The gene pool of Flora and Fauna, found in the World Heritage site ‘Valley of Flowers‘ will be prepared. The purpose of preparing a pool is to conserve and enhance the very rare vegetation. The Forest Research Center has started its preparations. In this regard, land is being explored at the same height of Valley of Flowers. The valley of flowers is found in the foothills of the Himalayas in Chamoli district of Garhwal division. According to government study, there are 525 flora, more than 90% of the flowers. According to sources of recent study, there are 700 flora. As a result of hundreds of flora and fauna found in very small sizes, UNESCO has given the Valley of Flowers a world heritage status.
In this valley, the state flower Brahma Kamal, Multi Story Flower, Poppy, Himalayan St. Flower, etc. are found, which are in very rare category. In other words, apart from the Valley of Flowers, these florae are found elsewhere. The forest research center is now preparing to build the gene pool of these flora.
In this sense, the Forest Guard visited the area around the valley of flowers, to look for the land in the genetic reserve. Forest research believes that there are hundreds of flora in the valley of flowers, but if it is destroyed due to a natural disaster, the spread of the disease will be impossible to do them again. In view of this, a genetic reserve is being prepared.
Lessons Taken From Babbar Lion
Babbar Lion is mostly found in the Gir National Park in Gujarat. The Supreme Court has said that Babbar Lion is a very rare wild animal, if the Lion Babbar ends up in an illness or disaster, the species will become extinct. Therefore, to protect Babbar Lion from being extinct, it must be kept at Buri Wildlife Sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh. Taking lessons from this decision, the Forest Research Center is preparing the Gene Pool of flora, found in the Valley of Flowers.
The gene pool of rare plants found in the valley of flowers will be prepared. In order to avoid any kind of disaster, these plants do not become extinct in the disease. In this regard, the land will be selected soon for the pool being visited.
