On the occasion of Dev Diwali, people come to Haridwar Ghat and light the thousands of lamps (Diya) and celebrate this day.

Devdiwali festival is celebrated at Har Ki Pori Haridwar 15 days after of Deepawali. Dev Diwali is also a festival of Kartik Purnima. It is tradition festival of Haridwar.

Dev Diwali or Dev Deepawali is unique in relation to “Diwali” praised all over India. While Diwali is praised on “Amavasya”, Dev Diwali is commended on Karthik Purnima (Full moon night) of Hindu schedule which comes 14-15 days after the Diwali. It falls in the period of November (28 Nov 2020). As per Hindu folklore on this day, Gods drop to the Ghats of Haridwar to bath in Ganga. Because of this the celebration of Dev Diwali is commended in this structure in Haridwar and the city is accused up of exercises during this time. This is an auspicious occasion to light lamps (diya) in memories of your ancestors.

In Hinduism, Dev Diwali has very important and it is said that on this day, Hindu deities enter on earth and other myth is that Demon Tripurasura was killed by Gods.   

Dev Deepawali is a well-known festival praised each year at the heavenly city Varanasi/Haridwar. On the day of Dev Diwali:-

While I was going to Ghat, I saw that streets of Haridwar were jam-stuffed with individuals who originated from various pieces of India to commend the Dev Diwali.
