The Satopanth lake is located in chamoli district, which is just 24km far from the Badrinath, one of char dhams pilgrim station of Uttarakhand state in India. The local people of this area say that the three Lord of Hindus were used this Lake for bathing. The lake is one of the sacred lakes in the Himalayan region.

History
The satopanth lake is in the triangular shape, every corner of the lake is given the name of three Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. Every year many people from all around the India visit this lake and take bathe in the lake in the believe that their sins will be washed away. It is said by many local people of this place that Goddess Lakshmi and Her husband Narayana meditated in the Lakshmiban and Chakratirtha. Legends say that pandavas used this path to reach the gate of Heaven after the Mahabharata war.
The lake is very famous and well known for the well adventurous trekking route which passes through many small villages, natural cave and wide forest as Lakshmiban and Chakratirtha in the Himalayan region of the state of Uttarakhand. Natural cave of this area is mostly used for night stay by the trekkers. The climate of this place play the big role to make the trekking more difficult for trekkers.
How to reach
To reach the Satopanth lake you have start your journey from Mana village, is 4km up from the well known Badrinath Dham. You can reach the Badrinath dham from Rishikesh via bus or a cab. The trekking route from Mana village leads you to Vasudhara and thereafter comes the Lakshmiban and Chakratirtha after the dence forest of Lakshmiban comes the most famous Satopanth lake.
